Prayer from Scripture
“If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here. How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and with your people unless you go with us? What else will distinguish me and your people from all the other people on the face of the earth?”
- Exodus 33:15b-16
Prayer from History
Lord God almighty, you give power to the weak, and strength to those who have no might! Without you I can do nothing, but by your help I am empowered to do every duty given me. Lord of power and love! I come, trusting in your almighty strength and your infinite goodness to ask for what I lack. My God, let your grace be sufficient for me, and always be present with me, that I may do all things by your strength. I will trust in you. Be my helper. Carry me beyond my own strength, and may all I think, speak, and do be acceptable in your sight; through Jesus Christ. Amen.
